Kashmir commuters suffer as transporters protest Smart City bus expansion

Commuters in the Kashmir Valley faced difficulties on Monday as private buses and inter-district cabs stayed off the roads. This was in protest against the government's proposal to expand Smart City bus services. The protest was called by the All Jammu and Kashmir Transporters' Welfare Association, which fears the move may threaten their livelihoods. A road blockade was observed in the Valley.
