Khammam farmers hit streets over delays in crop procurement

Farmers in Khammam district staged protests over delays in maize and paddy procurement. They alleged inadequate purchase limits, lack of gunny bags and government inaction. BRS leaders and farmer groups demanded the government to set up procurement centres and purchase every grain produced by farmers. The government is accused of neglecting the farming community and failing to fulfill promises made during elections.
