K’taka suspends engineer, orders inspections after wall collapse

Karnataka government suspended an Executive Engineer after a wall collapse at Bowring Hospital in Shivajinagar, killing seven people during heavy rain. Officials were ordered to improve monsoon preparedness and inspect vulnerable structures. Compensation of 5 lakh was announced for the families of those who died, and the injured were directed to be treated free of cost. Potholes are being repaired, debris cleared from roads, and garbage removed to prevent flooding.
