Mammoth heatwave to roast India; IMD sounds full alert

India Meteorological Department has warned of heatwave conditions across parts of the country. Heatwave conditions are very likely to prevail over isolated pockets of northwest, central and east India for four to five days. Hot and humid weather conditions are expected in several regions, including Gangetic West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. Warm night conditions are also expected in some areas, while thunderstorm and hailstorm activity is possible in various parts of the country.
