Mancherial farmers stage rasta-roko seeking paddy procurement

Farmers in Mancherial district staged a rasta-roko demanding speedy procurement of paddy and highlighting hardships faced at procurement centres. They blocked traffic on the Mancherial-Luxettipet road, demanding that the government expedite the process of procurement. The farmers regretted spending sleepless nights to protect their produce shifted to procurement centres, citing risks of losing lives due to lightning and previous incidents where farmers were killed in shed collapses. Officials assured of speeding up the process, leading to the withdrawal of the protest.
