Nine new Lok Sabha seats to redraw Telangana’s electoral map

Telangana's parliamentary map is undergoing a major rehaul with the Centre's delimitation exercise increasing the number of Lok Sabha constituencies from 17 to 26. The State's population, as per the 2011 Census, is 3.50 crore, including 54.08 lakh Scheduled Castes and 31.77 lakh Scheduled Tribes. Each Lok Sabha constituency will have seven Assembly segments, resulting in an increase in SC and ST parliamentary constituencies.
