Nipah virus resurfaces in Kerala with 43-year-old bizman testing positive; 72 people in contact list

A 43-year-old man from Feroke in Kozhikode district has tested positive for the Nipah virus in Kerala. Health officials have identified 72 people for monitoring, including 58 health workers and 14 family members, who are at risk of infection. The patient is currently on ventilator support at the Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital. A contact list has been prepared and high-risk contacts have been asked to enter quarantine. Essential medicines and PPE kits have been stocked for supply to those in quarantine.
