Odisha CEO orders stricter verification of voter deletion applications

Odisha's chief electoral officer has ordered electoral registration officers to conduct proper verification before deleting names from the state's electoral roll. Officials have been directed to verify demographically similar entries, issue notices to electors with suspected duplication or doubtful matches, and physically verify at least half of Form-7 applications received after a certain date. Wrongful deletions must be thoroughly investigated and affected voters re-enrolled immediately.
