Odisha issues SOP for safety of census enumerators following incidents of attack

Enumerators in Odisha are collecting data on housing conditions, household amenities, and assets as part of the House-listing and Housing Census. However, they have faced hostility in some areas, with incidents reported in Kamakhyanagar and Tangi. In response, the State government has issued a standard operating procedure allowing enumerators to skip hostile houses, which will be covered later with protection. Police have intervened in some cases, arresting troublemakers.
