Over 57 million voters to decide fate of 4,023 candidates in Tamil Nadu today

Polling is being held across Tamil Nadu's 234 assembly constituencies, with a total electorate of 57,343,291 voters, including 29,304,905 women and 28,030,658 men. A total of 4,023 candidates are contesting, with 3,579 men, 443 women and one transgender candidate. Over 147,000 state police personnel have been deployed to maintain vigil at polling booths, while 1,700 CAPF companies are also involved in the elections.
