Pawan Khera moves Gauhati HC for bail after SC refusal

Congress leader Pawan Khera has moved the Gauhati High Court seeking anticipatory bail in connection with an FIR lodged in Assam over alleged defamatory remarks against the wife of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. This comes after the Supreme Court declined to grant Khera protection from arrest and refused to extend his transit anticipatory bail. Khera's plea was filed on April 20 and is registered for listing before an appropriate Bench.
