Peru's electoral board confirms June 7 presidential runoff with Fujimori and Sánchez

Peruvian electoral authorities have confirmed the official results of the presidential elections, with Keiko Fujimori and Roberto Sánchez advancing to the runoff. Fujimori, a congresswoman and daughter of the late President, gathered 17.19% of the total votes, while Sánchez, a former foreign trade minister, secured 12.03%. Both candidates will have to form coalitions to win in the runoff, as more than 70% of voters did not choose either of them in the first round.
