Proposal to increase retirement age of judicial officers in Tamil Nadu under consideration: Chief Justice

A proposal to increase the age of superannuation for judicial officers in Tamil Nadu from 60 to 61 or 62 is under consideration. Madras High Court Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari made an oral observation that a positive decision is likely to be taken in due course. This was stated while presiding over a Division Bench hearing a writ petition filed by four judicial officers nearing retirement.
