Protests erupt over embankment construction in Nileshwaram

Opposition has emerged in Nileshwaram against the construction of an embankment as part of National Highway (NH) 66 development. Residents and a people's action council are demanding its replacement with a pillar-based elevated flyover citing safety, mobility, and economic concerns. An agitation led by Nileshwaram NH66 Janakeeya Samara Samithi has been ongoing, pressing authorities to dismantle the earthen embankment at Market Junction and redesign the stretch as a viaduct.
