Strike over high fuel prices paralyses transport in Kenya

Transport in Kenya has been severely affected by a nationwide strike over high fuel prices. Thousands of commuters have been stranded and businesses paralysed as public transport operators refused to operate. Key roads in Nairobi remain largely empty, forcing some commuters to walk to work. Businesses in parts of the city have shut down and schools have asked students to stay at home.
