Study: Number of German industrial firms falls

Germany's manufacturing sector has seen a decline in the number of companies over the past 15 years, with a fall of almost a fifth. Industrial companies accounted for 7.8% of the overall German economy in 2010, but this figure had dropped to 6.6% by 2024. The sharpest declines were recorded in the printing and media sector, the metal industry, and the clothing sector. Meanwhile, services, specialized sectors, and people-related activities have seen growth.
