Tens of thousands rally in Serbia for antigovernment demonstrations

Tens of thousands of people, led by university students, have rallied in the Serbian capital to protest against the government and call for early elections. The protests, sparked by the Novi Sad rail station disaster, have snowballed into a campaign to push President Aleksandar Vucic to call early elections. Protesters, many carrying banners and wearing "Students win" T-shirts, streamed into a central square, with columns of cars driving in from other Serbian towns. Clashes broke out between protesters and police, with police firing teargas and stun grenades.
