Trinamool ‘betrayed’ women, will be punished in West Bengal elections, says Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Trinamool Congress of betraying women by preventing the passage of the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill in Parliament. The Bill sought to provide 33% reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies. Mr. Modi asserted that women would punish the ruling party in West Bengal in the upcoming Assembly polls for blocking the Bill, which is opposed to women's empowerment.
