Tripura: Surrendered militants begin 72-hour strike over delay in rehab package

Surrendered militants from the National Liberation Front of Tripura and All Tripura Tiger Force have blocked highways and railway tracks in Tripura's Khowai district, demanding implementation of a ₹250-crore rehabilitation package announced as part of a quadripartite agreement signed in New Delhi. The agreement was signed nearly two years ago, but the Centre and state government have failed to implement rehabilitation measures promised under the peace accord. The agitators have begun a 72-hour strike, alleging non-implementation of the package despite several written requests to the government.
