UAE-Iran differences and India’s plans to dilute language on Israel-Palestine derail joint statement at BRICS meet

Delegates from the United Arab Emirates and Iran sparred over the war in West Asia during the BRICS Deputy Foreign Ministers and Special Envoys meeting in New Delhi. Diplomatic and official sources said the meetings also saw India attempting to tone down language on Israel and Palestine, which was opposed by almost all other members. The meeting ended without a joint statement.
