Ukraine hits Russia’s distant gas facilities after Moscow’s attacks kill 6

Ukraine has struck gas facilities in Russia's Orenburg region, more than 1,500km from the Ukrainian border, in retaliation for Russia's overnight attacks on Ukraine. The attack damaged a residential building, a school, and a kindergarten, but caused no injuries. Russia claims nine Ukrainian drones were repelled over the region, while Ukraine says it intercepted drones across six regions, damaging energy facilities, apartment buildings, and a civilian train. The attacks occurred as a ceasefire brokered by the United States expired, with Ukraine offering to extend it but Russia refusing.
