‘Won’t accept any criminal…’: Congress, Left parties reject Mamata Banerjee’s call for alliance against BJP

Congress and Left parties have rejected Mamata Banerjee's proposal to form a united platform against the Bharatiya Janata Party. They called her leadership corrupt and stated that they will not accept anyone identified as criminal, extortionist, corrupt and communal. The parties also questioned Banerjee's definition of "ultra-Left" and pointed out past instances of violence by such groups. They stated that democracy was in peril during Banerjee's regime and refused to join forces with her.
