Yemen’s landmine crisis endures despite truce and de-mining efforts

Landmines in Yemen continue to kill and maim, even amid ceasefire efforts and ongoing de-mining initiatives. The hidden risks have turned fields, roads, and villages into areas of ongoing danger, with landmines and other explosives killing and injuring Yemenis. Since the 2022 truce, landmines have killed at least 339 children and injured 843, with nearly half of child casualties related to the conflict due to landmines and explosive remnants of war.
