38 booked, 23 held in U.P. over violence on Ambedkar Jayanti

Violence erupted in Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj district on Ambedkar Jayanti when anti-social elements allegedly tried to block a procession taken out by the Dalit community. The police were pelted with stones, and an FIR has been lodged against 38 people. Twenty-three people, including five women, have been arrested in connection with the incident. Heavy police deployment has been made in the village, and the situation is now peaceful.
