Feds will require data centers to show their power bills

The Energy Information Agency plans to require data centers to disclose details about their energy use. This development comes after a request from U.S. Senators to gather data on data centers, which are consuming increasing amounts of energy. A nationwide survey will be mandatory, but the agency has not yet set a date for implementation. The agency is currently conducting pilot surveys in several states.
