Anti-defection law won't apply to AAP MPs, say experts

Renowned legal experts have highlighted the Tenth Schedule's inability to stop political defections when they acquire the scale of "merger". They say joining another party with the approval of two-thirds of a legislature party's strength does not fall foul of the anti-defection law. Senior advocates argue that Section 4(2) of the Tenth Schedule provides a valid defence for such mergers if approved by two-thirds of the legislature party.
