Duststorms and lightning kill at least 96 people in northern India

Duststorms, heavy rain and lightning have killed people in Uttar Pradesh, India's most populous state. At least 96 people have died and over 50 have been injured in these weather-related incidents across several districts. Many deaths were caused by falling trees, collapsing structures and lightning. Emergency teams were deployed to clear fallen trees and provide aid to affected families. Relief operations are being carried out, with authorities ordered to provide emergency aid and compensation to affected families within 24 hours.
