From ultra left to campaigner for Tamil Brahmins

A Madurai lawyer cut his teeth in politics in the ultra left during his student days. He became a full-time activist of a CPI(ML) group in the 1980s to further a radical social change. However, he broke away from the party after being passed over for a leadership role due to his Brahmin roots, which he believed were a disqualification unique to Tamil Nadu.
