Guarantee scheme beneficiaries to be verified again: K’taka CM

Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has ordered a review of the state's five guarantee schemes to identify ineligible recipients and improve beneficiary records. The review aims to correct flaws in beneficiary records and ensure accurate data on recipients, including contact details and electricity usage patterns. Officials will scrutinize schemes such as Gruha Jyothi, which provides free electricity, and Gruha Lakshmi, which offers monthly financial assistance to women heading households. The review is intended to prevent misuse of the schemes and ensure benefits reach eligible recipients.
