High healthcare cost, lower ante-natal and post-natal costs in Telangana

Telangana has one of the highest average medical expenditure per hospitalisation case in the country, at ₹52,743, excluding childbirth. This is mainly due to high costs at private hospitals, averaging ₹72,561. In contrast, government hospitals in Telangana charge significantly lower rates, ₹5,856 in urban areas. The national average medical expenditure is ₹37,858, while Chandigarh has the highest at ₹80,478.
