IAF deputy chief to review C295 project in Vadodara

Air Marshal AK Bharti will review the C295 transport aircraft programme in Vadodara. The programme aims to enhance IAF logistics and replace aging transport planes. The first Made-in-India aircraft is ready and will begin flight tests in June before delivery in September. Tata Advanced Systems Limited and Airbus are jointly executing the programme, with the European plane maker delivering 16 planes in flyaway condition and the rest being assembled in India. The C295 will boost the air force's logistics capabilities and replace its ageing Avro transport aircraft.
