Iran strikes caused more damage to US bases than disclosed, repairs may cost billions

Iran's strikes across the Middle East have caused extensive damage to US military infrastructure in the Persian Gulf region, with repair costs expected to run into billions of dollars. The affected sites include warehouses, command centres, aircraft hangars, runways, radar systems, satellite communications infrastructure and military aircraft. US officials were reportedly surprised by the ability of Iranian strikes to penetrate defences, despite the presence of advanced US air defence systems.
