New delimitation model seeks to increase Lok Sabha seats to 824

A working paper from the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister has proposed a "targeted delimitation" model to increase Lok Sabha seats from 543 to 824 by splitting 170 existing constituencies into smaller units. This model aims to improve representation and boost voter turnout, particularly in states like Telangana, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, where smaller constituencies could have a significant impact. The proposed model involves splitting 59 constituencies into two parts and 111 into three parts.
