Public being made to pay for Modi goverment’s mistakes: Opposition on fuel price hike

Opposition parties have hit out at the government over the hike in petrol and diesel prices by Rs 3 per litre. They allege that the public is being made to pay for the government's mistakes. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said the government earned ₹43 lakh crore from Central Taxes in 10 years when international crude oil prices were low, but now imposes the burden of inflation on the people. Other leaders also criticized the government's handling of fuel prices, calling it unacceptable and pathetically predictable.
