Stressing grave constitutional wrong, Lucknow lawyer pushes for release of Chinese national languishing in U.P. Jail after prison term

A Chinese national, Wang Gou Jun, is languishing unlawfully in Lakhimpur Kheri district prison despite completing his three-year court-ordered sentence in February 2026. A Lucknow lawyer has raised administrative and diplomatic lapses, stating that detention beyond a lawfully served sentence constitutes a constitutional wrong. The lawyer has volunteered to fund Wang Gou Jun's return flight to China, if that is the impediment to his release and deportation.
