Tamil Nadu election 2026: Arcot constituency residents in despair as dust and noise pollution from quarries persist

Voters in Nambarai village, one of 15 farming villages in Arcot Assembly constituency, are living in despair due to the operations of private stone quarries and crusher units near the village. These units also exist in neighbouring villages such as Anaimallur, Venkatapuram, Pallaprathi, and Kuppam, where over 10 stone quarries and crushing units have been operating for two decades.
