Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister welcomed seven Aam Aadmi Party MPs into the Bharatiya Janata Party after Rajya Sabha Chairman approved their merger. The MPs are now part of what the Minister described as the "nation-building" fold under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Minister also referred to the Opposition INDIA bloc as the "Tukde-Tukde INDI Alliance.
