A family of a celebrated painter's grandson in Santiniketan faced hurdles while exercising their right to vote. Despite a tribunal clearing their names, they were initially made to leave the booth, requiring a written order from the Birbhum district magistrate to vote. They were eventually given VIP treatment and escorted to the booth to cast their votes after the matter was escalated to the DM.
