What are Lebanon’s most important political parties?

Hezbollah is the most powerful political movement in Lebanon, formed in 1982 during the Lebanese Civil War and subsequent Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon. Funded by the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hezbollah has close ties to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and is a religiously conservative Shia Muslim party. It provides social services in the absence of the Lebanese state and has maintained its arms to oppose Israel's occupation of southern Lebanon
