Allahabad HC bench split over NHRC-ordered probe against madrasas

A division bench of the Allahabad High Court has issued conflicting interim orders on a National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) probe into 558 government-aided madrasas in Uttar Pradesh. The bench was hearing a writ petition challenging an investigation launched by the Economic Offences Wing after NHRC intervention. The judges expressed differing views on the commission's role, with one criticising the NHRC for failing to act on issues involving assaults and lynchings targeting the Muslim community.
