DGCA tightens rules for foreign airlines operating in country

India has tightened rules for foreign airlines operating in the country. The DGCA can revoke or suspend a foreign airline's authorisation for lapses such as not meeting safety standards. Foreign airlines must nominate a local representative, set up a passenger grievance redressal mechanism, and submit periodic reports to the DGCA. They must also follow consumer protection rules and maintain safety and security standards.
