Orphaned twice: SIR strips Kolkata's Kerala-born man of vote, identity

Benjamin, a 50-year-old man from Kerala, has been living with his adoptive family in Kolkata's Beleghata for over two decades. He was born an orphan and has no memory of his parents. After being taken in by the Baral family, he gained stability and eventually, citizenship on paper. However, his voter ID was deleted during the Statewide Electoral Roll (SIR) exercise, leaving him without formal identification.
