Saudi job to Op Sarp Vinash: J&K man who had key role in 2003 strike on terror stronghold dies at 63

Fazal Tahir, a Muslim Gujjar and Special Police Officer, died of a heart attack in Uttarakhand at the age of 63. He was laid to rest in his native Murrah village. Tahir was instrumental in Operation Sarp Vinash, an exercise to purge terrorists from Hilkaka, a hamlet in Jammu's Poonch. He had given up a lucrative job in Saudi Arabia to seek revenge for his brother's death at the hands of terrorists.
