Vijay's Tamil Nadu stunner exposes cracks in INDIA bloc: Congress, DMK trade barbs

Fissures have become visible in the Congress-DMK alliance over support for actor-turned-politician Vijay. The Congress party has formally announced its backing for Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) to form the new government in Tamil Nadu. DMK has called Congress a "backstabber" and questioned TVK's ties to the BJP, with DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai hinting that Vijay's outfit is "close to the BJP". The Congress party claims it is backing a "secular change" in Tamil Nadu, as the people of the state have voted for it.
